VACANCY FOR THE POST OF SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
Skill Set:
- In depth technical expertise in Redhat Linux Server administration and
CentOS is desirable
- Working knowledge in Redhat Clustering & HA Configuration and
administration
- Working knowledge in Apache-Tomcat & PostgreSQL Configuration and
administration
- Good knowledge with virtualization technology, preferably RHEVM, Xen &
VMWare
- Working experience in application integration with RHEL servers, server
management, antivirus, backup/restore and monitoring tools
- Experience with shell scripts and languages such as Perl
- Familiarity with a broad range of tools, including management of
applications, hardware, and network
- Experience with Virtualization and hypervisors such as Xen and VMWare
- Security Administration is desirable.
Experience: 3 years as Linux System Administrator
Responsibilities:
Participate in the design and review of new business systems,
applications and hardware; architect the server infrastructure
required to support projects Monitor and tune Linux systems to
achieve optimum performance levels; provide performance statistics,
metrics and other reports.
Define and perform server backups and recovery procedures;
participate in development, testing and implementation of business
continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Optimize usage and leverage of IT infrastructure across the
organization
Evaluate and recommend hardware, software and tools and other
infrastructure to enhance productivity of the workforce
Propose and own deployment architectures for hosted solutions
Responsible for managing internal and client websites, application
servers
Storage (NAS, SAN) configurations and allocations
Qualification:

Job Description
The Database Administrator is responsible for effective installation,
upgrade, patching and database infrastructure. The database Administrator
tasks will be focused on improving performance, scalability and reliability
of the system by continuous monitoring of system health, and
troubleshooting issues that arise.
This individual is accountable for regular backups of the database
infrastructure, automating the same; conduct regular audits on the system
to ensure the recovery point objective of systems are in place. This
individual is responsible for notifying the bottlenecks with the query
executions and coordinate with R&D teams to eliminate the same. This
individual is responsible for managing production, development and QA
infrastructure.
Job responsibilities also include supporting production system on shift
basis.
Skills
Strong knowledge in PostgreSQL with 1-3 years experience as
PostgreSQL DBA .
Strong knowledge in monitoring and resolving issues with
configuration
Strong knowledge in physical database design concepts
Strong knowledge in High Availability configuration on databases
Good understanding of data segmentation and data retention rules
